October 20/21 Update: Cleanup is now complete and classes will resume tomorrow, Thursday, October 21.
There was a fire in a bathroom at YCMHS this afternoon (October 19/21). The school was evacuated and everyone is safe. YCMHS will be dismissing early and this will result in bus delays for other schools in the area. Port Maitland and Carleton will be dismissing at normal time and no late buses are expected at these two schools.
As a result of the fire at YCMHS, there will be no school at YCMHS on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
We thank everyone involved for their cooperation during the evacuation and appreciate the assistance received from the Yarmouth Fire Department.
