The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development announced today that the mask requirement in Nova Scotia’s public schools and on school buses will be removed as of Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
Masks are still recommended but will be optional on school buses, in schools, and in our offices/worksites. Whether staff or students choose to wear a mask or not, they will be supported in their decision and masks will continue to be available for staff and students.
Students, staff, and visitors are asked to continue to follow core public health measures, including getting vaccinated if eligible, staying home if feeling unwell, following the COVID-19 daily checklist, and washing and sanitizing hands frequently.
